Poison Piercings for G9 Labret Stud Ball not working?

I'm trying to load the 'PP Labret Stud Ball' onto a model but it doesn't show up. I do see that something was done cause I can 'undo load: PP Labret Stud Ball'. The other piercing options are working fine. I also tried it on a base G9 model to make sure it didn't work there either before posting this. Is this something I can try to fix myself?

It works on my side. Can you select the ball and press Ctrl + F to locate where it is ?

Ctrl+F didn't do anything but I was able to find it in the scene tab. All the parameters are set to 'on', and I'm not sure what to to do from here.

Edit: The surfaces tab of the labret ball is empty. When I load load a labret GEM the surfaces tab isn't empty.

  • I deleted and reinstalled the pack but no change. Anyone know what can cause the surfaces to be empty when they shouldn't be?

  • What happens if you type Stud in the filter box at the top of the Scene pane?

I can find it in the scene panel, in texture shaded mode I see a grey square on the model, but it's not visisble when I render it and the surfaces panel is empty which is different from the other piercing options.

A grey square sounds like that it is missing geometry.

    How are you installing?

And after loading it, try to look in the log for errors, Help > Troubleshooting > View Log.

I load it by selecting the Genesis 9 model and then the accesory from the content library. Added the log for this action.

  • That looks like a bad file, if it cannot create the shape it won't be able to render it. There are no notes of bug fixes on the readme page but if you just reisntalled thee xisting download it may be worth trying to redownload, especially if you purchased a while back, in case there was a fix.

I uninstalled the pack, removed the download, redownloaded the pack and installed it manually to be sure. Still getting the same errors in the log unfortunately.

Is there any way for me to fix this myself? If not, is there a way to contact the creator of the pack?

I've found that multiple piercings don't load properly. Attached are the Shark Bites Stud Ball piercings, 3 work and the 4th does not.

Ok, idk what happened. I obviously closed DAZ before uninstalling and redownloading the pack, started Daz again and I still got the error. I just re-opened the save for the model I was working on after making some changes I didn't like, and now it magically works?

You're right ~~ I didn't check its Surface and Iray Preview. There's a wrong UV set definition in this Stud's DSF file... I had to firstly load PP Jestrum Stud Ball into RAM then it would work when loading PP Labret Stud Ball.

If you want to fix it yourself:

    1) Go to folder: your Daz Library\data\TwiztedMetal\Poison Piercings\PP Stud Ball\UV Sets\TwiztedMetal\Base, open file default.dsf, go to Line 16, copy default-0xa1e896b (screenshot 1)

    2) Go to folder: your Daz Library\data\TwiztedMetal\Poison Piercings\PP Stud Ball, open file Stud Ball.dsf with Notepad++, go to Line 487, paste default-0xa1e896b after default.dsf# (screenshot 2)  Save the file.

Reload the Stud (screenshot 3). Then fill a ticket as you wish.

There're 16 geometry definition files (DSF) in data folder, it seems by now that only PP Stud Ball has such an issue. If you correct it, other accessories will be loaded correctly as well.

    Thanks! That fixed it :)

  • Please do report this - I don't have the product so I can't really make a report.

I reported it. But I also found another potential error? The PP Hoop L nose ring does not sit in the right place. PP Hoop R does sit in the right spot on the nose wing. Left side the position of it is very high.

I found no issue on G9 Base but on other character(s) (ss1). The culprit is a wrong setting with Rigid Follow Node (RFN) on left side.

Select RFN Nose Hoop L, set Follow Target to Genesis 9. (ss2) Then finetune the XYZ Translation / Rotation values with the hoop node on left side.
