Going back to work

Is it possible to make it so we can back to work in studio while rendering with iray?

Please make it so.

  • Got to say that's one of the cool features with the Reality/Luxrender combo.

  • I suspect it would require a radical redesign of how DAZ Studio works, since Iray is integrated into the software instead of acting as an externally accessible utility like Reality and Luxrender are. A lot of us probably prefer the current system simply because it works with how we are used to using Studio; I actually don't want to start doing anything with the existing characters since I'm not sure exactly how the render is going to turn out, so I don't want to alter the settings any until I know the render is going to turn out the way I want it.

I use the iray preview before i do a render. the preview saves me some time, but it sure would be nice not to have to run two instances of daz at a time.

  • I agree with the OP. Maybe leave it as is by default but in the Advanced Render Setting allow more user control over the amount of CPU/GPU/RAM resources used so that a portion could be used to...go back to work! In a big scene with many material zones for example, maybe you've applied a few textures and you'd like to see how that is going to render while continuing your texturing/other work in DAZ.
