Multi coloured dots in render
Hi all, been working on a comic book and building a scene (attached). I want the scene to be dark and mostly lit by the tentacle lights, though I have a number of other lights edging the figures for effect. The problem, as you can see, is this scattering of multicoloured dots when you zoom in on the image (you have to zoom in quite a bit, then you get this dandruff scattering) as well as a weird transparent parts on the heads of the female tentacles. Anyone have any idea why this is happening. If it's a low light issue I guess I'll just have to relight it brighter. I've run it through a few ai enhance programs but it just smooths out all the details!
UPDATE Rendering at 4x and then shrinking in PS fixed the dots and putting a background behind the image dealt with the transparency. (Attached for comparison)
BUT, I'd still like to know why it's happening!
Also, I am still learning (working in DAZ) and I'd really appreciate any tips/advice to improve these images. I know they're not even close to some of the amazing artists who post across the web, but I'm trying!

Iray is a physically-based rendering (PBR) engine that uses path tracing to calculate the amount of light that hits the camera, and generally speaking the more light the better. It's effectively the same as a real-world camera. You could also try brightening the lights and/or increasing (decreasing? I can never remember which way it goes) the exposure value via tone mapping in the Render Settings pane, then using post work to bring the exposure back down where you want it.
Thanks, will try that.
