Genesis 8 Starter Essentials

I submitted a ticket, but decied to ask here in case anyone else has any ideas. I tried to use the new G9 clones for G8, and there was no option. Since there was no update showing for G8 Essentials, I took some advice from the forums and uninstalled/reinstalled the package. Now, the essentials show as enpty thumbnails, and I get a file missing error when trying to load G8F/G8M. Additionally, every time I try to load a G8 character, I get the missing files error, and have to select the Starter Essentials package, and select install. Does anyone else have this problem? Any idea how to fix it?

That's really strange. You might close out DIM and give it a few minutes, relaunch and reinstall the Stater Essentials. If that doesn't work you might try a manual install of the Starter Essentials (download the ZIPs from your Daz3D account Product Libary). If that doesn't work, I'd recommend opening a support ticket.

    - First, DO use DIM to install rather than Daz Connect.

    - Then, in DIM, fully uninstall G8 Starter Essentials in Installed tab, delete the package in Ready to Install tab, then re-download all three packages.

    - Install.

    Or check this thread.

I finally got it to update after restarting Studio 3 times!! It works now.

That would not be an issue for a clone

Hopefully, you picked up MMX Genesis 9 Clones for All yesterday when it was on sale.

Unless you are using Genesis 3 or earlier models, then there is not much need for it (since G8 now has a G9 clone for free).

If you do use G1-G3 then this gives you a clone to fit G9 clothing to them.

Snagged it. I still use the orioginal Genesis almost exclusively, so having this clone set is a necessity. Too bad you can't use Genesis Gen X to convert the clones into shapes.

Please accept my apology for my ignorance.  But how can I use the G9 clone for G8 (or is it the aother way around)?  Or where can I fnd that feature?

    Thank you

Fit a Genesis 9 item to a Genesis 8/8.1 figure (usually just loading with Gensis 8 selected) and the AutoFit dialogue will appear - select Gensis 9 as the  figure the item was designed for, optionally pick an items type, and click Accept.

Dear Richard, thank you for the reply.  So, it's just like the normal autofit for previous generation, yes?

    Again, thanks for the help.

It's the same autofit function: Daz simply added a G9 autofit clone to G8F and G8M, and added templates to help autofit getting better results (I don't know how it fares against 'MMX Genesis 9 Clones for All', I have it but didn't compare them).
