I should have known better...this new version is NOT functional and has deleted all of my previous saved scenes to ZERO bytes, it is not possible to close Pandora's box to revert back to the last functional version of Studio 4.22 which was working perfectly.
I would much prefer to NOT have this latest disaster, but there does not appear to be a way to do that.

Those in a category, so it isn't necessarily that the files are gone but that they are no longer where the database says they are - which is not something Daz Studio would have done. Where do you usually save? If it is an external drive in particular, check that the drive letter has not changed. Check that you have not accidentally moved or renamed your save folder. If all else fails, do you have a back up of the scenes' location(s)?

You will have to point where you savescenes back to that same directory & open each scene, one by one! It's a major hassle!

It could also be diffrent content directory settings in beta and General Release (if the update installed was a different channel).
