Hello everyone

I tried to install a character purchased on RenderHub and I managed to get the body and the mesh skin and everything else tells me that there is an error and that I need to look at the log for more detail! Except I'm not the log either

for the installation of the files I unzipped the inside of the content folder of the Marcus renderhub zip in (A:\Daz 3D Folder\myLibray\Applications\Data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\People\Genesis 8 Female\Characters \Marcius)

I am attaching some PJs to you

I'm really bothered plus it's a character that I'm going to use for an animation project for my exam

Thank you for your help

That is ashaping preset - you need to load the base figue and have it selected for shape and materials presets.

Yeah, you probably shouldnt just be inventing your own installation methods and unzipping random files into random locations in your content folders

why are we posting like this

There are many different types of presets, material preset, shaping preset, full character presets.  Shape preset is, as the name implies, is a type of preset that applies the shape of a character.

To use a shaping preset, you need to add Genesis 8 female in the scene first to be able to apply the shaping preset to it.

Because when text is pasted in from certain sources, including a Google Translate box, it appears in Formatted rather than Normal format (drop down button just before the text colour button - and the forums have taken to showing that format in that way. Switching the format to Normal will resolve it, which is what I have done.

  • chrisvnchrisvn Posts: 29

Thank you richard I selected normal in the drop-down menu.

Lilweep : I just try to add Genesis 8 female in my scene and i can't apply the prereglage, i heve follow the tutu :

I admit that I don't understand, I'm going to follow another one to see !!! so i will tel to you Thank for the help

I only linked those tutorials because you implied you installed the files incorrectly, but I wasn't sure if that was your issue.

Can you state what the problem is? Has the problem changed? Originally you were getting an error, what problem is the latest screenshot showing? It doesnt seem to be showing any issue?

It would need to be the highlighted selection in your 'Scene' tab before applying the preset.

Another way to apply morphs is via the 'Parameters' tab.  You could go to 'All' in 'Paramaters' tab and type 'Syph' in the Search bar.

I wanted to try this evening but suddenly I uninstalled them all last time! to be transparent in the way I installed I will tell you where the files go and you will tell me if it is correct :

so the folder : «data / People /Runtime» I take them one by one and I drag and drop in folder My DAZ 3D Library»  is correct ?

    Thanks for your help

You can drop them one by one, but that can be rather tedious. And you need the full structure. E.g. inside the Data folder there will be a deep structure that must be copied.

You should be able to just drop the 3 folders, on the library folder that has Data/People/Runtime, and then the individual files will get merged into the structure, and it will create new folders as needed.

It is essential that you drop them on the library folder. If you e.g. instead drop the Data folder on the library Data folder the product Date folder will be included in the library so you will get Data/Data/.... and that would cause errors.

    Basically, yes.

    Note:

I take them one by one

It doesnt need to be one by one. You can select all and drag/drop all at once.

in folder My DAZ 3D Library

You can merge them into any of your content libraries. If 'My Daz 3D Library' is the content library you want to install to, then yes it can go there.

I have a content library specifically for each online store. For example, I have a content library for Renderhub. That way it's easier to remove content from this library.

If you want to add a new content library, it's easy.  In DAz Studio, under content library tab, you can right click Daz Studio Formats and add a new one.

Note that in MacOS you do need to be careful as it will replace one identically named folder with the other, rather than merging them as Windows does.

    lilweep a dit :

    chrisvn a dit :

donc le dossier : « data / People / Runtime » je les prends un par un et je glisse/dépose dans le dossier « My DAZ 3D Library » est-ce correct ?

    En gros, oui.

    Note:

OK so i will try to create a new spécific folder is good idee also thank you hope after it will be ok !!

    No, not there.

Right click Daz Studio Formats > Add Base Directory.  Then you could link to a folder on your harddrive where you want to start adding 3rd party content.

Do you still have the products installed in your other directories? If you do still have the content installed in another directory, it could cause some conflicts.

    Hello ,

I created a Daz folder on a separate hard drive and in this folder I created subfolders;  a daz_Source folder, another instal_Manager_Source folder, and a folder for the library, it is ok ?

Yes naw i saw for the directory !! but the question is, did I do the right thing by separating daz, install manager, and the library?

If you are doing manual installations, you only need a content library, i.e. one folder you can refer in Daz Studio content management.

All subfolders will be created along the way, if you just dump the content of a zip file on your new content library.

If youre asking if you can have multiple content libraries for different purposes, the answer is yes.

If youre asking something else, i have no idea what you are trying to ask.

here is a screenshot of my file how it is organized! I want to know if it's ok like that if I don't risk having a conflict ? :

You have 3 folders, but it is unclear what the purpose of those folders are:

    dossierDaz_source: ?

    Installmanager_source: ?

    myLibrary: your content library.

What lilweep said was that you can have more content libraries, e.g. one for Daz content, and one or more for content from other shops.
