Changing dforce behavior of Linday hair?

Linday's Long Wavy Hair is one of may favorites. Fo rmy taste however after simulation is has a bit too much volume, especially round the shoulders.I would expect to be able to change this with some surface adjustments but can not find the right ones.

Changing the overall dforce settings of the scene (Gravity or Air resistance) wouldn't help me as I have other dforce objects which behave perfectly as it is.

Any ideas?

    I don't know if it is something like this you are after.

    First image is with default hair settings, second is with bend and buckling set to their default values.
