$24 PayPal invoices looks like automatic renewal for a previous quarterly membership.

If so then DAZ needs to clean up their act here.  I was on a quarterly renewal too but they forced us into a monthly fee set up.  So if I get double charged there will be hell to pay.  Most of us are on budgets and every dollar counts.  So they best get it together!  angry

If you previously paid for a quarterly or annual subscription with PayPal, I would suggest checking your PayPal account for a remaining recurring payment for that subscription, just in case (like when you cancel your membership).

This is one of the few things in this cavalcade of screw-ups that isn't Daz's fault. PayPal's recurring payment setup continues on its own until canceled on the PayPal side. I've seen that with other things when using PayPal.

If I upgrade to Premier, create a project using Premier Exclusive Tools and then later downgrade back to a Daz+ membership, will my projects, created in Studio Premiere, open and be editable in Daz Studio +?

If you mean tols as in plug-ins then the only one that can leave a relic in the scene is Geometry Sculptor (ne Mesh Grabber) which can create a live modifier which can be saved in the scene and adjusted later, but it can also be turned into a moprh that will work without the plug-in. Render Queue obviosuly needs the plug-in to process a queue, but you could still do renders of single frames or images sequences without it (or use another queue manager). The others just create things and are done, their output (converted shapes or poses) does not depend on the plug-ins to work.

Content will fail to load; so far it has all been shapes so if a shape was used in a character you would lose its contribution but you would otherwise still have the character.

AIko 9 has textures, so if the textures are used in a character and the files are removed when the subscription ends, those too will cause errors

No, though the license to use them will have expired. Textures do not get encrypted.

    That... isn't any better.

So you then have a character with unlicensed textures and no error message to warn you unless you also used the morph? Like if I gave Vicky 9 one of Aiko 9's eye textures, my subscription ends, and I'm expected to remember using the Aiko 9 eye texture and replace it lest I infringe and potentially be subject to whatever penalty daz inflicts on those found to be using unlicensed content?

This may have already been answered and I just missed it, but if I subscribe and use the Shape Transfer tool to transfer my G8 characters to G9 and then let my subscription lapse, will I still have access to the converted characters? If I understand correctly, I won't be able to access the Shape Transfer tool any more, but what about already converted characters?

Converted characters will be fine. Only Geometry Sculptor (when it is left as a modifier instead of baked to a morph or the like) and Render Queue may leave "live" elements linked to membership, the converters do their job and leave regular content which has no dependency on the membership.

Be on the lookout to those who were offered a free period of Premier.

I was offered 3 months of Premier if I changed over. Since my membership was ending soon, I accepted & converted over.

Today, my credit card was charged for the month of November...I should still have 2 months left. I should have been good through the end of the year. Submitted a ticket requesting a refund.

Pretty pathetic to offer a period of free membership but not honor the deal...my opinion of DAZ & their practices just keeps getting lower & lower.

A question about the Pay for at a discount Add-on Bundles.
I don't see them particularly higher discounted than the general 50% and 75% off all DO items have at the moment.
(which is still high, don't get me wrong. But I would expect them to be different, since they are tagged Premier)
What discount do these bundles exactly have for Premier members?
Furthermore, I own almost most of them already, will these also be updated regularly, like the monthly free bundles?
    Thanks for your time ^^

From what I understood, they're bundles for which the "pay only for the items you don't have already" rule is enabled when you're a premier member.

Currently they seem to be "bigger versions" of some of the ones available as free bundle choices, so my guess would be that they'll also be updated regularly.

  • I have been trying to join DAZ Premiere as a DAZ PLUS subscriber but no luck. There is this on my page

    "You Have a Personalized Offer

Convert your current subscription to Daz Premier!

View your offer."  I click on view your offer and nothing happens. I have contacted support and have not heard from them for over a week. Is this a known issue with Premiere?

My free Premier membership period just lapsed. I thought it would auto-renew, but it didn't. When I upgraded from DAZ+, was I supposed to re-enter PayPal as my payment method of did that have nothing to do with it?

  • Same issue as mentioned above, my premier member didn't auto-renew as it was suppose to.

And when I try to sign up again, it is saying I don't have a default billing address and I had to re-enter my address. What has DAZ been using all these previous years?

I am not having a good consumer experience.

As it turns out, after a few bleak days of the free tier, the auto-renew kicked in. I wasn't expecting the lapse of a few days. I didn't make any changes to my payment method.
  • DAZ took all of the balance left and knocked me down to base membership after I wrote in to support thinking I would get a credit or something to go to Premiere. Not great! Currently waiting on a potential business deal before considering signing up for anything. Without the discounts I paid for, I can't really buy any of the newer products I would have liked to so it's DAZ's loss for the time being. Of course I want to sign back up but I'm not in any rush either.

Were you on Daz+? If so, how much time did you have left on the subscription? There may have been a miscommunication in what you wanted or how the program works..

Definitely not very impressed with how this whole Premiere experience has gone for me. I had the "personalized" offer for 3 free months of Premiere if I converted over. Since my Plus membership was expiring soon, I converted over. To begin with, the 3 free months were never added to my account & I was charged for November. I opened a ticket & through several back & forth conversation, the 3 free months were finally added (which meant I was to be Premiere until 2-5-2025).

I had also requested that my credit card info be removed from DAZ's database (since I could not find a way to do it myself) so that it would not be used to renew automatically until I was decided on whether to continue the subscription.

Imagine my surprise when I get a email & notification that my Premiere (the 3 FREE months) was CANCELLED.

Nowhere in any communication had I asked for my free months to be cancelled. This has been a complete fiasco. I have submitted another ticket trying to get the 3 free months that DAZ offered added back to my account. I expect DAZ to honor the offer that they made> So far all I have received is the automated "we will look into it" email. I am beyond disgusted & frustrated with all the hoops I have had to jump through just to try out Premiere.

Membership being cancelled should simply mean that it won't renew automatically once the expiration date is passed, you should still have the membership benefits until then.

Your forum profile doesn't show it, but I gather your membership will run until January but I wasn't clear on its AutoRenew status. It does look as if there may be some slight issues remaining (if only the sync with the froums) so it may be worth going back to support.

Support finally manged to get it all sorted out right & reinstated the free months.
