zBrush Clothing Question

So I'm in the middle of making my own outfit. I have ran into a major delema I'm hoping somone knows the trick behind this. I want to make these pantyhose and socks, but when I mask the figure, it masks everything, so instead of socks I get foot gloves.. lol!!!
How do I fill in the gaps?

I don't use zBrush for modeling - this "extracting from figure and then trying to produce a decent cloth" thing is too exhausting ;-)
By the way: If you want to sell your clothes, it is not allowed to start with extracted geometry, I think. Not sure and never cared, because I don't do it that way anyway.
Usually I start with a cube (f.e. for shoes) and then extrude along ...
What I would try in zBrush: Delete the toes after extracting geometry, then extrude and weld the open edges.
