Horse reins animation?

Any advice on animating the reins of a horse? How to make them go taught or slack? Would Dforce help?

Other than that, it would depend a bit on the geometry of the reins. dForce might struggle with 3-dimensional reins, whether strap or rope in design.

First you'd have to find a set of reins that's actually capable of being animated that well, as most of them, frankly, aren't... I usually just hide the existing reins and hand-draw them in, or use a pair of ropes generated with the Dforce string utility ghtsdForice Strings and String L | Daz 3D  Once you have that, DForce will simulate the effects of gravity, though not the exact effect of being pulled under stress as that requires stetch and squash effects that I don't think DS is capable of.  Another option would be to use the StickyChains plug-in, StickyChain Plugin | Daz 3D  as once you've set the end points, it will automatically calculate the adjustments.
