Is it possible to swap out the base buildings in the Medina Cityscape Generator for custom ones? I need to make a sprawling ancient chinese city and im hoping this would work.

Not sure if you could get it to work with other props directly, but maybe you could combine it with Alienator Pro to replace the various objects afterwards?

  • You can replace the duf's in the, Data\V3Digitimes\Desert cityscapes\IRAY props, folder and as long as you rename them to the original name, seems to load assets just fine.

I tested with swapping out some stonemason buildings from urban sprawl 3 and it loaded them just fine, other than i needed to turn the z offset to 0 to keep them from floating.

Seems to be limited to the 35 files included though.

If you haven't bought that product, I would suggest you a no-go as it's limited in terms of functionality.. especially if you don't need those "assets in Medina" ~~

I suggest you either consider this product https://www.daz3d.com/flockit Or, no need to use any Product at all but just use DS built-in Align plugin to manipulate your ancient Chinese city Props (or anything...), so as to wisely save some of your money ~~

For instance, up to your need, align Figures / Props on X Axis firstly with setting To Grid values (ss1) ... then make sprawling variation by tweaking To Grid values on Z Axis (ss2) ~~

You can also do it with Ultrascatter Pro and maybe just Ultrascatter... placing different "planes/discs" on the terrain where you want different types of "buildings" to be. You can do the same with vegetation, characters, vehicles and anything else you can instance. Currently $45 for the pair, but on sale often enough.
