Calm down, this is not the time to recriminate someone for a simple word.

    ...

Words have power - and there are many words that are considered offensive, times and language change.

Also not the place to accuse others.

It's true that words have power. However, motivation and intent are superior to mere words alone and should likely be considered before we fall into chaos of semantics and personal biases.

So only some are allowed to express their opinion without being told to basically being told to be silent - that is bias, just because some don't agree its no reason to silence. An open discussion on the whys and why nots surely is the better way to proceed.

It isn't the topic of this thread, however.

It wouldn't be sold on Daz's marketplace.

    Ballpark?

You would need to bascially pay enough for it that it would cover the cost of time and effort they'd normally recoup from the marketplace in the first 3 months if you're looking to have it as exclusively yours. Typical hair sells  around $30. OOT is very skilled and makes very desireable hairs, so I suspect that in 3 months they'd sell at least 300 to 400 copies of a hair. Assets are priced here based on volume theory-- sell lots at a lower price to recoup your time and effort vs one at a high price. I would estimate for an exclusively yours hair by OOT, you're looking at a minimum of $5k (assuming they'd be up for it to start). Your best bet is to post an image in the Product Suggestions forum and hope for a creator to take up the challenge (or a user to suggest a currently available hair or combo of hairs you can kitbash together).

  • I once talked to someone and the estimate was $4000.

  • Let me give you an idea if what you're asking.  I asked a vendor at another store to create some tattoos for me, I let thm know that they can sell it it they wanted, which was fine with them.  The stated they would charge me $20, for about 10 tattoos + a LIE remover (which is a bonus for me). So be warned that it will most likely get prohibitively expensive.

Alsom consider their existing workload.  What are they currently working on, what are they creating, where would your item fit into the timeline of all that.

I would suggest, as someone stated, try searching for your hair on the site.  Another option would be to post the picture to a new thread, asking it something is out there that is similar

How much time would it take for OoT to make your requested hair? Knowing that you would be the only buyer, how much time would they then NOT have to spend on other products? With those factors in mind, how much would they have to charge to make that tradeoff worthwhile?

Also, there's a reason you're specifically looking for OoT to make this hair for you: because of their reputation for quality, and there's a price on that, too.

And it's more than just what they'd make on that one product. When a PA releases a new product, there's a spotlight on their back catalogue too, which drives sales. Not to mention the publicity to attract new customers to look out for their stuff. All that's part of the oppoirtunity cost that Gordig mentioned.

if you go outside the Daz ecosystem it might be cheaper to have hair commissioned, but you would need to port this to daz yourself or i suppose commission someone to do the porting for you.
