Smart Content Library and "Now Selling" items

morrisonmpmorrisonmp Posts: 152

So, I was excited to see and buy a bunch of the Now Selling at... items a few weeks ago (Krashwerks, Lilflame, etc.) but when I download them they don't appear in my Smart Content library - only my Content Library, which I don't normally use because it's such a mess to find anything in.

Is there a way to get those items to appear in Smart Content or am I doomed to just digging through menus anytime I want to use them? This is especially annoying for clothes/wardrobe items because I have to remember every, single item I bought and from whom to be able to go find them again.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

They'll be in the Lost and Found category. Should turn up if you search for the products, but if not, you can order the products by order date and find them that way.

When you find a product, open it up, go back into the lost and found folder, select all the items in that folder and right click. In the menu, select Categorize. From there, you can put them into a smart category - even create your own new ones. Probably worth taking them out of the Lost and Found category while you're at it (but not before adding them to at least one other category). You can do them in smaller batches or individually too if you're patient. I find putting them all in one smart category easiest to begin with because at least I can then find them. Then I can categorize them individually in slower time as and when I use them.

This does not appear to be the case for me. None are in my Lost and Found.

If you downloaded them through DIM they should appear in Smart Content automaticaly.
But if you have downloaded them manually and copy pasted them to your library you can use my script to add them to smart content.

Are the items in your Content Library under the product type and PA's name? If so, you could add metadata yourself. Everything that was moved from Renderosity I have had to add the metadata and sometimes the thumbnail to it. But all of it, installed by DIM, has shown up in Lost and Found first. And for some of the items, I like lights/HDRIs and shaders I figured out that using Content Library would be easier, but I still did my best to create metadata so I could at least see it in Smart Content, then switch as needed.

I just bought a boatload of them that I already owned from the other site, thinking they were going to have meta data for smart content. None of them do. You'll notice in DIM that they all have the metadata indicator greyed out, as in there is none existing. Which stinks, because the chief reason for buying these a second time around from Daz was specifically for the smart content. Ten items in total, from four different "imported" artists, that I already owned to begin with, and not a lick of smart data among them. They are "there," but the only way to find them is to uncheck Filter By Context and search specifically for the name. If I have to use Content Wizard to get the rudimentary meta data, there was no reason to buy them at all.

If you've had them less than 30 days, quickly submit a help request and request a refund.

Yup, done did that. Will totally buy again if they change that one thing, though.

I was also shocked to see that the first two items I bought had no metadata. At that point, I just stopped buying them. I doubt if Daz will go back and add metadata. They never did for the old RDNA products, as far as I know. How would we even know if they did add metadata to those old products sometime in the future?

I will amend my statement, there is one so far that actually does have metadata for their stuff: Pamawo. Which is good, becuase his transferred items also included updates to textures and G9 conversions for some, so it's an added value to buy a second time around.
