Wolf 2 isn't rendering furry

I am not sure where to ask this but, I seem to be missing something when using the Wolf 2.  I am trying to get the wolf to render with his furry coat.  I can see the "fur" in the preveiw, but it doesn't show in the render.  I watched the tutorial on the Wolf 2 page, but that Daz Studio is configured differently than mine.  I do have the LAMH.

Any suggestions?

    is it LAMH?

if so needs 3Delight or conversion to mesh

There's probably someone else who can better answer the question, but as far as I know LAMH is a pre-Iray product and requires the Catalyzer (and a compatible hair) to work with Iray.

However, I would suggest it's probably more practical in the long run to instead use AM's updated version of their wolf made on the Daz Dog 8 base, which uses the newer (and more currently supported) dForce hair system built into DS: https://www.daz3d.com/dire-wolf-for-daz-dog-8

AM has updated most if not all of his old models to include Catalyzer presets.

  • The Iray preview doesn't show the hair. You have to push the render button to get the fluffy effect. It happens to me every time until I remember…

Thank you for your replies!  Your suggestions make sense.  I'll keep working on it.
