    so when you lay out a line, add thickness, the original line remains?

    adding thickness doesnt just puff it outwards, is puffing inwards as well?

    twould be interesting to see the effect of ior through a plane, vs a cube, vs reversed normals

     

    i better go sleepy, >.< work in the morning.  

    so many questions!! like the look of shadows falling on an object with subsurface scattering

    Shadows aren't really a thing in themselves, they are the absence of light (at least compared to the "lit" areas). Usually not the total absence of light though, there will be environmental light giving color and definition into the shadowed areas.

    You can add thickness with both positive and negative values to create a new surface either inside or outside the existing object. I'm not sure how this would work with just a line and no polys though - just try it and see!

    attenuation is only on lights, nothing to do with shadows?

    inverse squared, linear, etc  up side down

    If you want to get soft shadows with the default render engine, on the panel "effects" turn on the box "enable soft shadows" and encrease the size to a realy big value. Use raytrace shadows for smoother shadow surface. Don't use map shadows, they cause artifacts and pixelation.

    My pleasure! You don't need to touch "bias", leave it as is. Otherwise, you may get a fan-like shadow.

    tryin to figure out how to manually cut a 'tramp stamp' to fit,
    cutting vertically down the middle wont work, seams are more like a coast line

    the tc2 does have a tattoo option, but not for g3

    thought I'd have a go at modeling some LiS style clothes for my actors that will be in the Chariot and Space Pod..

    i'm in the middle of the Priscilla quest.  2nd try, messed up finding the villain 1st time.

    having another go at a G8F preset, starting over.

    wondering if it would make a difference to use ds utilities with my old pc with ds 4.8.  can't hurt to try.

    cant see the uderlying problem with g8f's nailbeds. 

    cant think of how to isolate 1 toe for corrective morph?

    thinkin separate x,z,y morphs to move those misbehaving g8f nailbeds to where they belong.

    mebbe is my method?

    befor i hit post comment, i right click on the upl thumbnail, oprn to new tab. i manually edit the url to take out /thumnail part,
    then insert image with twekaed url,
    then hit post comment

     

    how do yoos do it?

    pose presets do not work on the sy thingees

    g8m fbms work dandy on g8m and all his toes
    did they do the new toe thingies to him, or they skipped doing it to him

    Same problem  Just started happening around 4:00 PM Daz time.  It isn't your browser.  I'm using Firefox.

    I know that the guy doing a script to convert between different characters is also having issues with the nail beds.

    there's nothing that makes sense for a morph to move verts in 1 software and not another.

    the most likely suspect, thought something with the subdivision level, hypothetical verts.
    doesn't seem to make a difference.
