Anyone have experiance running the Nvidia GTX TITAN X 12 gig Superclock?

I have 2 Nvidia 4g 970's but i'm looking to upgrade performance and down grade to a single card. My motherboard has some unique issues with dual card configurations.

I like to speed up all renders (iray especially) and eliminate my issues with the MB. I could replace the MB if that helps but I'd like to avoid it. I run an i7 with 32g RAM, 1 TB of SSD (raid 1) and W7 pro. Any experiance running an Nvidia GTX TITAN X 12 gig Superclock or any suggestions on a better card. Thanks in advance for the assist.

Yes, you would be able to do larger scenes, but you would be losing about 300 cores...not sure how much of a difference that will make, but on paper it would make some.

There are benefits to an extra card, as it is purely render, and the other for display, or add as a render boost when available.

So, although the extra memory is good, the split purpose of the card may have an affect.

  • I bit the bullet and swapped the MB out. I also added the titan to my system making it 3 cards (2x 970’s on secondary and the titan) Power supply had to get bumped up as well. World of difference. Thanks all for the advice.
