Head replacement or Project geometry, HOW?

Hello all,  I hope I can find an answer to this question but I have seen several models on DAZ studio where the character has an entirely different head like a bird head, bughead, gorilla head that are extremely drastic but are still part of the Genesis 3 model.

I was wondering how this was done.  I would think morph targets but some morphs seem a little too complicated for a simple GOz to Zbrush and back again style morph.

For example

I would like a different head on my character but be able to use all of Genesis clothes and such.

Any ideas?

Or what about something like the mermaid tails.  How do you replace the whole body part like that?

Thank you in advance.

  • most of those use HD morphs which only DAZ 3D Premier artists have access to

the only other way is to use geografts to add mesh which the tails would do

  • May I ask what an HD morph is?

HD morphs are basically morphs of the subdivided mesh.

But there is a lot you can do on the Genesis family IF you are careful with your sculpting and/or don't mind losing the teeth.

This is one I did a while back for the first Genesis...
