You want to animate a Genesis character in C4D.
The export of Daz Studio animated scenes to C4D is mainly done with the Alembic format which is very efficient. If other possibilities exist, they are little used and little described on the internet.
Then it doesn't matter what render engine is in C4D. Moreover, before launching the rendering, we check that the animation is played correctly in C4D.
As a result, you should start to define a process with whatever softwares you are using, starting by testing it with a very basic animation and an unclothed C4 character.
Furthermore, in your post, you do not indicate how you import the scene into C4D, which does not allow you to respond precisely.
Which version of C4D? If you're on at least R21 (if I remember correctly), you can use the character definition tag to apply imported animations to a figure. I haven't tried bridging an animated character yet, but if you could export animation to DS and apply it to your character there, you could either use the Daz to C4D bridge or simply export as Alembic.
hey thanks for the comment Getting the genesis daz to c4d isnt the issue for me main issue is to get the endorphin data to Genesis 8 character in daz
Thanks
I'd never heard of Endorphin before now, so I don't know how it works. Can you import a G8 character into Endorphin, build your animation on that, and then export it? Does Endorphin export BVH?
And to expand on my previous post: you don't need to get your animation back into DS if it was built on a G8 skeleton. Simply import your Daz character into C4D, import the animation, apply the character definition tag to both, then add a character solver tag to the character.
@Gordig
Endorphin was a powerful ragdoll simulation software that has long been discontinued yet lives on amongst us few die hards who still have a working install and yes it exports to FBX & BVH compatible with pre genesis Daz & poser native figures.
I had several PM’s with the OP about the process of sending the Endorphin BVH files from Daz Mike 3 up to his goal figure of G8F but then I learned he had Reallusion Iclone 8 & CC4 which will allow him to bypass DAZ studio completely with its retargeting and pipeline tools for C4D Blender maya Max etc.
So I think he has found his solution.
lol ....you have to retarget endorphin in c4d .....not daz of course ...... i use endorphin with daz in c4d .....C4d has easy tools to do that
