Hylas Ouch! But at least he's getting some tender care. Lol.
I managed to get a lot of G9 stuff with the wishlist sales, including Nathan 9. I just had to create that gorgeous character from Shimuzu's promo pic that they gave the recipe for. I'm definitely going to use this guy for a future project...

Which hair did you end up going with? I was following that other thread. I am always on the lookout for decent guy hair.
I know right? Decent guy hair! I seem to have a LOT of hair for guys, and yet I'm still always looking for more... (And end up using a few go-to hairs way too much...) For this one I put two hairs together: Adam hair and Zander hair. It'll do I think.

Ah, I keep forgetting about Zander. I have that one and somehow keep forgetting to scroll all the way down to the Zs to find it when I'm trying to pick a hair to use. Nice picture!

Thanks Paula! I have the same issue with scrolling down - I never get far. So I decided to finally just change up the sort order periodically. This month it's recently bought items showing up first. Nice reminder of what I got and should try out!
I picked up the Highlands Gown for G9 during the tail end of the Holiday sale; I apparently missed it when it first came out, but after someone on the Daz3D Slackers Discord posted something using it I dropped it on the to-buy list.
I don't often do historically themed stuff, but I rather like outfits like this, and the same Discord soon after picked "Anachronism" for its weekly theme, so that worked out well.
It probably goes without saying that it's not normally for centaurs, but I got it in my head that it would be funny to do a centaur dress as if it were an extremely long bustle, and no-one's yet taken away my Blender licence, so that's what happened.
Amusingly, Matt, my bleary not-yet-finished-my-morning-coffee eyes focused on the image before I read the text, and my thoughts went something like, "Wow, that is QUITE a bustle on that dress! ... Oh, wait, it's Matt, that's a centaur, isn't it?"
This is going to be your legacy. (There are worse legacies. Some folks on DeviantArt know me only as the person who turned two characters into ice-cream cones.)

Nathan looking mighty handsome here. A bit of a cross between two aussie actors - Rusell Crowe and Eric Baba (they're younger selfs). Combining the two hairs worked well.
I haven't posted here in a long time! It was fun looking back through all the renders. At first I was worried G9 males looked too effeminate for my taste, but after seeing all the hunky G9 males in this thread I have changed my mind! As far as my render I wanted to do a portrait with this jewelry set, so I guess the jewelry in this instance was my muse more than the model, but I really have a soft spot for Addy's characters. They are all so lovely. I can't remember when I bought each item in this image, but I do know Addy Gemma was relatively recently.
Before the trolls, that came out in december, belong in the other thread, here my take on the toll collecting trolls, Gren & Chert, in a last century city.
Last day to post this render, done with a couple of products I got last month during the Advent Calender:
the Seaside apartment, which looks like a place someone could live in, with a kitchen, a bedroom and a bathroom. An overall great product (except too much glossy props in the kitchen, but that's a story for another render ).
the cat
Victoria's clothes, part of Jacqueline 8.1 Undercover Retro Bundle which found its way in my Lightning Deals.
I'm trying to understand lightning a bit better and here, I tried to soften the shadows on Victoria's side (the one facing the camera), at least part of her side not covered by the black turtleneck top.
Edit: I thought I kept a previous render, but I did a before-after changing the light comparison with uncomplete spot renders. If someone has advice regarding the difference (too much light or not enough), I'm all ears
Here's another one for which I checked off a bunch of untested new items. Many of them are January/February acquisitions; some go a bit further back into last year. (Yes, still testing new stuff from last year...) And a couple are old buys, but which I haven't don't anything with beyond a "yep, works" initial test.
Yesterday I bought Face Scars and Body Scars 2 by FenixPhoenix and Esid, I used it together with Wound Makeup Artist by SimonWM and Dega which I've had for a while.
Hylas Ouch! But at least he's getting some tender care. Lol.

Those two hairs worked out great, I must say. I need to make a note of this.
sid and FenixPhoenix Thank you both! I don't think I'd ever auditioned so many hairs (and beards) for one character. Was happy it worked out it the end.
It's great to see all these renders!!
Calliope23 Your render of Gemma is lovely! barbult That's just shocking!!! I'm just going to think the hamster made it to a safe spot just in time!
Well, all these wishlist sales, valentine's day and lunar new year sales have been crazy. I hope everyone tries out their shiny new things and shares more renders here! It's always so much fun checking in to see what everyone creates! After all the stuff I bought, I definitely need to make time to render out at least a few things soon...

joanna Well done. I was just thinking we need to bring this thread out of hibernation!
Love your render! The effects and postwork are fabulous. She does seem awfully angry (and young) for a fairy godmother. Did she just crack the floor with a stomp of her foot?

Love your render! The effects and postwork are fabulous. She does seem awfully angry (and young) for a fairy godmother. Did she just crack the floor with a stomp of her foot?
Yes, do un-hibernate this (and the other thread). During month-long sales, it's easy to forget to render all the goodies!
And thank you. She's angry, because she hasn't been invited. As for being young... there was a quote in "Nettle & Bone" by T. Kingfisher about a godmother Agnes. I don't recall it exactly, but it went something like that: "She was now taller and now imposing, and didn't look like Agnes at all. It looked like magic within Agnes thought Agnes should look like." So this fairy godmother looks young because this is how her magic thinks she looks like.
Or, perhaps, fairy godmothers don't get old unless they want to? Or maybe it's a beginner fairy godmother and she has no clue what to do and how? (and therefore she's angry)
And yes, she cracked the floor with her stomp. Mostly, because I decided the floor was too clean and empty. ;)
PS If you like dark fairy tales for adults with little romance and a happy ending, I do recommend the book. To me, it's a thing of beauty.

Also, I think this is the first time I've properly used the Vintage Rose dress, despite having had it sat in my library for a long time, so hooray.

The few bridges were already controlled by other groups of trolls. The alleys of the city were the next best thing.

I picked up https://www.daz3d.com/flor-de-hielo-for-daz-horse-2 & a few others things in the Lunar Animals deal last week. This is a quick render of a fight between 2 supernatural horses. Reposting from Daz+ forums as I used a lot of new items in this one (and the thread could use some reanimation).
One Angry Fairy Godmother
Used: Head Shapes and Makeup for Pixie 9, Chrysalis Wings, Siren of Snakes Outfit (from Medusa for G9 Bundle), and Lace and Leather Fingerless Glove Builder. The rest of used items in the gallery.
Love the wings. I'll definitely use them again.
