Has anyone seen a brow eraser utility for G9 yet?

One of the vendors (Draagonstorm) that created this has unfortunately passed on and the other is @Zev0. I'm not sure if he has an upgrade planned for it or not.
I'd definately love an update or a script for Genesis 9 as well!!

Just use photoshop or GIMP until one is released

I am amazed that painted brows and body hair are still around.

    How did this pass QA?

When the base figure doesn't have painted brows, it should not be allowed for other characters.

My question comes because I use Face Transfer and have been experimenting with the updated FaceGen which creates G9 textures - with eyebrows from source images.

That is a design decison, it has nothing to do with QA.

This was asked over a year ago, so I hope it is OK to bump it. Is there anything available that can do this without having to faff around editing textures now? There aren't many characters where it's needed, so maybe the market is quite small, but they do exist.

I couldn't find anything in the store.

  • Obviously, my need for one remains, though I make do with Photoshop. If someone created a brow eraser upate for G9, I would definitely buy it.

Brow Remover can still work well on G9 as long as there's no complex make-up on the texture map. What you need to do is just:

    - change the name of Head surface to Face
    - create a custom mask map as per the Head map of G9

Indeed. I can see why some PAs might choose to have brows in the textures, but not why they can't have a brow-free option. I would have thought it's just a case of exporting from PS, or whatever, with a layer turned off.

Thank you, I was not aware of that option, I'll try that!  :) Though I expect a PA would create a better mask than I could and I would still buy a brow eraser.

So you mean its a low effor change and can sell it in store with $20 price tag? Common Daz... free money ;p

If you check the mask image files in the product folder, you'll find them pretty simple... So you can always customize the mask images as per the angle / length of brows on the Face map of your character to make Remover work more precisely.

Oh, I just mean there's a workaround to make it work on G9... Well, as per my knowledge / experience of Daz Script, I don't think there'll be lots of effort to make a G9's version of Remover...

what is it that directs the mask to only work on a specific character The product works with everything but G9 now..and maybe G8.1 ,,,, so there is something in there pointing to those specific generations. maybe a way to add the head/face change or something for G9?

Just because of surface name of Head ~ After changing it to Face, with a proper custom Mask, it'll work, on both G9 and G8.1. The mechanism should be the same.

@Elliandra shared a mask to use with the LIE editor, for Genesis 9:

I don't know if that mask can be used to take advantage of the trick from @Crosswind.

Wasn't one of the benefits of G9 going to be that every figure would have removable eyebrows?  Or was it 8.1 when that was supposed to be a thing?  As it is, I find that it's usually faster and easier to just alter the original textures in photoshop, and then borrow eyebrows from a different source.

Speaking for myself, it crops up as an issue in G9 for people like me who use Face Transfer 2/Face Gen. I can fix eyebrows in a minute in Photoshop, but it would be that little bit more convenient to be able to do it Daz.
