Modern Japanese apartments
I would love to see new highly detailed and realistic-style interior and exterior environments based on stereotypical Asian apartments, often seen in video games and movies, preferably, Japanese. In addition to being used for slice-of-life scenes, It would be ideal if these environments would hold the potential to be used to create horror scenes. thin corridors, sliding closets, and an attic with a wooden pulldown ladder would be great additions.
While I am making suggestions here, a residential stairwell and modern Asian elevators would also be nice to have if possible :)
There are some traditional Asian assets available on Daz, but it is still hard to find modern Asian assets. So anything around modern Asia is very much welcomed.

One big issue with small rooms is setting them up for rendering. A Section Plane can be used to place the camera outside but still have the full apartment render, but that requires some user adjustment which may throw some people.
Post some images of the look you are trying to find.
I like the idea but small spaces aren't easy to model in a way that makes them renderable. Most of the time we have to set up our own cameras for the user to use and end up having to utilize quite a few camera settings just to be able to get it into the viewport. Having done a lot of small areas, that is one thing that gets complained about a lot. It is just too darn hard to get a good render set up in them. The only way for us to make it easier for the user it to either material zone each and everything separately so it can be hidden or to make each and every piece modular. Will have to do some thinking on some ideas.
Here are some reference images requested. I hope they give a better understanding of what I mean, but truth be told, these spaces can be modern, old, or something in between. They don't have to follow any strict guidelines. What I am mostly asking are more Asian-style living spaces in the Daz store that can work for both slice-of-life and horror scenes. I asked for modern but gave examples of old rooms, but it does not have to be these types of rooms necessarily. The main idea would be that the rooms would be small and compact and filled with stuff.
When it comes to the challenge of creating scenes in small spaces using preset cameras, I can confidently say that I find this aspect quite manageable. As someone who is experienced in working with custom cameras and navigating within confined environments, it shouldn't be a major concern for me personally. Rest assured, I am not seeking a beginner-friendly environment in this request.
^Those aren't as compact as the ones that sprang to my mind when you mentioned it
They look doable (sadly I don't have a lot of time at the moment but there may already be similar things out there). Could add this to the ever-growing list of inspirations (but I'd be more likely to make a Chinese one as I lived there for a while and have more reference for authenticity).
I absolutely agree, I'd also love to see more of what you're describing, both interior and exterior sets. If they're well done, they're an instant buy for me. There is absolutely a lack of modern Asian scenes.
You may be able to cobble together parts of a few sets, perhaps retexture some parts, and come up with something. Some of the temple sets contain steps/exterior stairs. I think some of the less stylized cyberpunk exteriors might also work with a bit of modification. Maybe you can use some of these for the time being:

There are some free interiors here, but be aware that they may contain adult content and will likely also require converting the materials:

Chinese style is also appreciated. I am just happy if I get more Asian assets. If you choose to make anything in this direction, try to see if there are elements that you can create within the environment that can be used for Asian horror. It's a big plus ^^
Here's a newly released exterior set: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/160531/japanese-city-block-for-daz
It has a staircase similar to what you're looking for: https://live.cdn.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/160531/lightbox-images/642543/image_dfb23772db406b4506127a7fed41df3a.png
This one could be used as a base for a room: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/68356/studio-environment-set-iii
This one has an interior staircase that might be useful: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/97957/building08
This has a pull-down ladder that could be added to other sets. https://www.daz3d.com/room-creator-stairs-and-balconies
These are not Asian but they both have a narrow stairway between buildings going to an upstairs door from the sidewalk: To my knowledge the doors at the tops of the stairs are stationary, but that's something one might be able to modify if so inclined. With some texture changes, perhaps some geometry editing and the addition of Asian props, they might work for exterior street scenes.

This one is a fully contained room that might work as a starting point. https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/100571/basement-dorm
Just a regular flight of stairs, but very useful: https://www.daz3d.com/a-flight-of-stairs
This one could also be a starting point: https://www.daz3d.com/cozy-studio-apartment
This one has an enclosed walkway (as opposed to railings) similar to many Asian (also Mediterranean) apartment buildings. https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/137943/mediterranean-hotel-part-one-for-poser
This set is the only one I've found that has an exterior stairway similar to the image posted, but it's not as narrow. The only other one I've found that comes close is in the favela set. There is definitely a need for this type of exterior staircase (enclosed steps as opposed to open railings), given how common it is in many parts of the world. https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/155169/prestige-school?AID=4987
As for exterior stairs that are part of the streetscape, I have been looking for a long time for steep exterior stairs that would be found in any hilly town or city, with buildings that could be filled with shops or homes on the sides. I have never found any that suit what I need. There is this set for creating outdoor stone pathways though, and it includes stairs: https://www.renderosity.com/marketplace/products/55626/stone-walkways-kit
These sets contain a stairway as part of the streetscape/landscape:

Having been stationed in South Korea and Taiwan, I would love more average, modern, common, average person's living, eating, shopping areas. While some of this was in the mid-1970s and occured on the streets where I was in the ROK, I expect they have modernize greatly since then. I only had a nighttime stopover in Tokyo and two days in Okinawa, but the little I saw also makes me wish for more sets. And I know I have many sets that @sazzyassca listed. It won't stop me from buying more if any PA is looking for sales.
