Tried a few different ways, found a way that works.
First of all download model from Sketchup Warehouse.
Next import skp file into pCon.planner STD
Export model as obj from pCon.planner STD
Import obj into Blender
Export as fbx from Blender
Import fbx into Carrara (make sure fbx file is in the same place as the obj with maps)
Sketchup Trial 1 Tpz.png
1600 x 1200 - 4M
Sketchup Trial 2 Tpz.png
1600 x 1200 - 4M

I have gone straight from Pcon Planner to Carrara
Thanks!
Tried that but it was not importing the maps for me, did you have luck with it ?
been a while but am pretty sure Carrara just asked for a path then after browsing to it, they imported
update, just did one and it just loaded the maps from the obj right off the bat
I do have an old version of pcon planner that wants an update though
Using the two step method and importing FBX into Carrara
Using straight from pCon.planner STD and importing OBJ into Carrara (when I used FBX straight from pCon.planner STD on a large model items came in at different scales)
Two step FBX method brought in all maps, single OBJ method only brought in some - and with varying results !
well then I guess it depends on the model if some maps come over
SKP models vary a lot in quality
I also sometimes use the useful Carrara plugin called DAZ studio and do obj not FBX
if I had to use Blender I would probably import USD
SKP models definately vary in quality !!!!
There are some nice houses on Sketchup !!!
Another House and I'll call it a night !!!
thanks for thios Bunyip02 - this needs to be in the Carrara wiki!!!
I used the harbour bridge and luna ark a few years ago - but Luna Park was a mission
