Image please to demonstrate
BTW did the hair have a texture JPG in DS, or was it done with a shader
Your 2 threads have been merged because we do ask members not to ask the same question in different forums.

Do you have a set of jpg textures for the hair? with a transmap, that looks to be transmapped hair. You will need to edit the settings in the texture editor
The one I have shown was the first file I came across in my files with a hair used, This is the finished render of the hair. Normally I wouldn't add the ambience or nearly as much specularity, and I also wouldn't have used any percentage in the tranparency column, but I was looking for a particular look with this one.
What hair is it?
You forgot to add mandatory and a prerequisite for transparency map: to check the "Transparency Blend".
Yes I was posting that at nearly midnight last night, not really surpising I wasn't too coherent.

did you try sending from DS to Bryce
Yes, that's exactly what started this whole mess.
you said imported - thats not the same as sending from DS to Bryce .
Since this is causing such confusion, I'll handle it, then. Thanks, anyway.
Please don't do that, we are here to help you. Well most of us are. Fishtales, Slepalex and I are all regular Brycers and always happy to help someone get things sorted out.
Anything with transparency does need to be tweaked usually when putting it into Bryce.
I had a look for the hair in my library but I don't have it so can't help that way. I use the Bryce Bridge regularly to send stuff from DAZ. Most of the time it transfers fine and on the occasions that it doesn't I have a) managed to work the problem out myself or B) someone in here has posted something that helped.
To get the .jpg files for the Materials you have to click on the 'P' which loads the image file texture for the highlighted item.
This is a series of images I did for Eye lashes, same technique works for hair.
1 Select the mesh
2 Go to the mat lab
3 make sure the transmap is in both screens
4 put a dot in the box for the transmap
5 tick blend transparency
sorry if I didn't understand what you want - my bad !
