Lightning bolts

Is it possible please to create lightning bolts between two points or of varying lengths in carrara? Or alternatively for me to buy a product to achieve this? I did find electromancy in the daz store but I'm not sure I'd be able to get that to work in Carrara. Paul

I have used Electromancy in Carrara, adding the diffuse to the glow channel
there are lots of way one could do this, for animation I use Particle Illusion by BorisFX
I've used Electromancy in Carrara. The geometry comes in fine, but you have to create your own shaders.

Here is an example of something which did not work for me in the spirit of 'eliminating some options can save time.' I tried to use Carrara's plant modeler by removing all the leaves and using the advanced tree tab tools to manipulate the number and shape of branches. I then used the scale tool to flatten the result and applied a glow shader. While an interesting idea as a concept, the results in the plant editor of the branch tab were too random. At least for me.
That is clever usage, Diomede...
I find a lot of lightning (arcs) to be too random, so I would like to think this method could yield some good results.
@paultmcglone :
Barring Diomede's technique above, you could try the Spline Modeller, and literally "go between 2 points or to be of varying lengths" by drawing them by hand. I believe it should be doable, and you would have full control of any arc branching by however you design them.
One of my favorite applications is "Particle Illusion", now from Boris FX. "Particle Illusion is a powerful particle generator that gives users instant access to 3D particles. Available as a free standalone application." I use the paid version as a plugin in VEGAS, but I previously used a standalone version and actually preferred it in many cases. It basically overlays the particle graphics on any video file. (Or still image for that matter, i.e. a single frame) I'm pretty sure there are a number of lightning presets, all of which are customizable and animatable. Try the free standalone version.\

I use Flinks Sky Storm and Lightning available from Rendo.
~ "Particle Illusion + and there is several + Thanx
I use Ron's Brushes to create a lightning bolt ( black background and white lightning ) then add that texture to a plane in Carrara in the color and alpha channels with added glow in the glow channel in the texture room.
Is a goodie !!! https://www.daz3d.com/rons-lightning-fx
