New tool, the fan.

I would love a new class of tools, similar to lights.

The FAN. Creates an unseen force of wind that effects rigged clothing and hair.

Looks like a ghostly desk fan.

you can change the strength, distance of effect, and cone width.

 

also include an area fan, or call it wind

effects the whole scene

just direction and strength.

  • If this is for DAZ Studio the Dynamic Clothign Control plug-in (the non-free version of the DAZ Studio dynamics) already has a wind tool. For anything else you'd first need the ability to make it dynamic, which we don't have.

  • Yeah, environmental effects would be specific to individual props, clothing and anything else included within a particular given scene. The technology is not yet with us to do that!

    Try checking back in a decade or so's time. :)

    Until then, you have to use manual control over everything. Use individual movement morphs on each item of clothing/hair and so on. Learn from the art of theatre and film to figure out how best to create an environmental illusion. Hurricane-strength winds could be given extra emphasis by relocating/redirecting individual props and even whole vehicles, for instance, as well as having characters look like they're fighting against a wind's direction.
