Lord Ganthor - You must have very high standards. I think its wonderfully finished.

    Drachenlords - Thank you

ManOfSteel -  Great view.... Really like it

Horo - That fire looks very intence.

Fishtale - In the distance is really lovely

    This is my 2nd entry

    Close to nobody

    My take on Border Village

As the name implies, Border Village is located right on the border of Western Australia and South Australia. There is a small hotel offering travellers a bit of respite from the long journey. The sign shows actual distances from cities around the world,

To put it into perspective.... London to Moscow is 2,498 km.

I have to thank Horo for mentioning the program Elefont, as I used it to make the names on the sign

    Thank you vivien.

There are signs like that at John O'Groats and Lands End here in the UK smiley

We have problems with that sort of signpost in Wales

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,630

    vos - thank you.

Fishtails - the haze gives this a nice distance. I've seen the distance signs at Lands End.

vivien - yup, fire was quite bad. I took the shot when I checked the gate opened for the fire brigade. Great render with the distance signs, cool idea.

Pam - that's another sort of distance: the length of a word. I know places where you can tell the size of the village by the length of its name - inverse proportional. laugh

adbc - very nice spacial abstract.

Drachenloards - well, that's about 3 days worth of walking without water in this place looks like an infinite distance. The skull is a hint what may happen to the guy. Fantastic artwork.

Pam -  You sure do have problems with signs in Wales... I googled longest town name in Wales.... and there it was

LIANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIOGOGOGOCH...... Don't ask me to pronounce it.....It translate roughly as "At Mary's Church in the Hollow of the White Hazel near a Rapid Whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysillio near the Red Cave" You have the world record (58 letters) Way to go.

Xangth - Lone rider - I like it.

Adbc - Distant desert town .... Very nice entry, I really like the texture of the sand. And Spatial abstract looks really nice as well. Eye catching.

Dave - Power Lines.... Very clever and beautifully represented.

Drachenlords - That is certainly a long way. Poor thing, I hope he makes it... Great entry and so well done.

@vivien   I can pronounce it, has been my party trick since my Father-in-law taught me to pronounce it one bit at a time, and then put it altogether.
