Daz support said ask the forum cuz we dunno

When it comes to 3D Google is not good for knowing the difference with modelling and animating or game developing. I want to know what software to use for editing mocaps and expertly editing animation. I came here thinking I should try Daz but there seem to be a dozen apps.

Does Daz have something for good 3D animation software for mixing mocaps and manual animation? Looking for something more Pro than iClone.

Daz does not have what you are looking for if you are specificially looking for pro software for editing mocap and animation. And you specifically want something better than iClone.

Maybe Motion Builder is what you want. At least that is what it sounds like.

Good idea Wendy! Interesting cause Ikinema has this

    IKinema Action for Maya

    IKinema Action for MotionBuilder

Funny they have a cloud based tool as well. Latency must be tough in that case.

  • Not sure if IKinema will suit my needs, yet, looking into it.

I guess besides iClone there doesn't seem to be any good multi track keyframing type timeline software for 3D like I used to work with in 2D animation. I'm not a big fan of a 'ruler' type timeline with slashes for keyframes like in Maya. I know about using a graph but I would like the graph and multi track keyframing together so that I can at least make animation from scratch instead of just modding mocaps.

I haven't used Blender's animation really; I remember watching a tutorial on it and they had graphs and other tools to help the animation process. It was on CGcookie iirc; they have a lot of tutorials on Blender, a good number are free.
