Streets of London horse-drawn period vehicles would make for a fantastic add-on series

Stonemason's splendid Streets of London looks so empty.
Some reaonably detailed period vehicles, like Hansom cabs & Coach-and-Fours, would add to the realism tremendously. Various harnesses for the horses... We already have the horses, but few if any reasonable 'period' harnesses.
Think of Masterpiece Theater's Sherlock Holmes series. The London street scenes are come to life with all those horse-drawn cabs, milk trucks, coaches, & mercantile 'waggons.'
There are early mechanical vehicles, too, but whenever Holmes & Watson head to Victoria Station, they hail a horse-drawn cab!
High poly for foreground, lo poly for background fills ?
It's enough to make me want to take up modeling.

Edit this one is much older http://www.daz3d.com/royal-carriages-for-millennium-horse
i agreed. Also i am a bit let down that the model for big Ben is so low res.......would have been nice to have it a tad higher detailed.......:-p.
First the Pedantic bit :- Big Ben is actually the Bell, not the Tower (or even the clock), which is now called the Elizabeth Tower, but used to be known as St Stephen's Tower.
And Actually it is geographically situated some distance from the other buildings used in SM's set, so is not meant to be seen close up, really.
I've got both of these (have to remember to reinstall them sometime) but don't they both have the drawback of not having an included horse harness? Been a while since I last used the original Millenium Horse, I can't remember what other stuff it needs to give it a proper harness, as shown in the Tilbury one. There was a discussion of this ages ago, but I think it was in the lost ancient forum archives.
These may work

Excellent! Thank you for that heads-up. Very nice models.
I do have Vintage Sleigh, and Royal Carraiges. Thanks for the reminder.
I would like to see a set at river thames with some bridges and docs :), too
as written in another thread "on the old streets of London"
Whitechapel and Bakerstreet would also be cool to see as sets :) and maybe a part of city with the st.pauls cathedral :)
If you look at a map of London You will see that The docks are not shown normally. This is because all the docks are below Tower bridge, to the east of the City. There is one dock by Tower bridge, called St Catherines Dock. Docklands proper is some distance down stream. Tower bridge is an opening bridge, to allow larger ships to moor in the Pool of London, between Tower bridge and London bridge. There were Quays and Wharves but no actual Docks in the Pool. No Ships could negotiate beyond London Bridge. Docklands was built to remove the pressure of shipping from the pool of London. The Original docklands dates back to the late 1790s
I know, I was in London several times :) with docks I meant not the docklands also more the riverbanks also with moorings. Sorry for inaccuracy.
My suggestions goes to some other part of the city sets. So London without the River Thames would not be London, so a set with the River Thames and Riverbanks and maybe a bridge would be cool. Like the medieval docks but for London.
Oh I totally agree with you there, I was born in Lodnon, SW London and lived in what is now known as Greater London all my life until moving up here nearly 7 years ago, Always within reach of the Thames. When I was a child there was still a lot of traffic on The River (yes that was how it was referred to) with large ships moving through or mooring up on the wharves down on our part of The River. New Years Eve midnight was alwasy heralded in by Ships sirens, not the fireworks that you get nowadays. The River is almost a mile wide where we used to live, and until they built the Dartford Tunnels, followed some years later by the QE2 bridge the only way to get across was to either catch a bus or train up to Woolwich and use the ferry, or go even further up to London proper and use one of the bridges. The River dominated the life of London and Londoners. Some of the bridges are very beautiful, especially when lit up at night. Albert Bridge is one of my favourites
For me London is one of the best Cities. I really love it there (sure just as a tourist) but I was there nine times and I know it pretty well because my friends and me were walking the streets of London, also to places tourists not go at the first or second time, if you would ask my how many miles I have to say I don`t know, I had to stop counting.
One of my favorite places to have a beer there at midday is "The Banker" sitting outsite directly at the River Thames. Unfortunatelly there are just a view tables outsite where you can have a seat. But it is less frequented by tourists :)
