Is there such a product that allows Genesis 3 to accept V4 poses?

Anyone try to convert twice? From V4 to G2F, then from G2F to G3F?

I haven't tried it myself but there is a V4 to Genesis 2Female pose converter. And there are a few Genesis 2 Female to G3 pose converters. Not sure what the results would be....The G2F to G3F one is pretty solid. Big time saver. Not perfect but I can't expect conversion of so many changes to go perfectly. Especially if you don't use a stock shape on top of all that.
I personally have not seen one that jumps all the way from V4 to G3F, but maybe there is one.
Interesting but I think I could probably just rebuild the pose manually quicker than going to all that trouble. Hopefully someone will come up with something truly automatic soon.
Well teh point of those tools is to batch it. So I can't say from V4 to V7, but lets go from V4 to V6 ok? You run the batch tool, converts entire folders of poses for you. So that could be thousands of poses. Do it once, and you are done. Sure it takes several minutes to run through them all, but you never need to do it again. Or you can just run it on one pose set at a time as needed. Up to you.
I converted my fave G2F sets over to G3F the first night. Haven't used it since. So it's a huge time saver overall. Just depends on how much you need to use G3F and if you want to buy poses again for that generation (which I don't want to do)
I see your point. In this case I'
m just not completely converter to V7 yet but it makes sense at some point. I feel like a chump buying something like that each time though I ust say.
If this is the great improvement to convert from a to b and from b to c and from c to d, then it is no improvement.
I got V7, dont really use much. More for tinkering and knowing whats up. Still mostly use G2F. Totally understand. But if you had a huge collection of G2F poses to convert, it wouldn't be too bad and might save you tons of money on poses. From V4 though..yeah might not be great, that is why I asked if anyone else had tried.
No I was asking about a to b, and b to c. So 33% less steps. However, I never said it worked well and was asking. It might be terrible. However I can say converting from a to b works pretty darn well, saves time, money and energy. I think it was about $10 and about 20 minutes of processing to convert over about a dozen pose sets that had hundreds of partial poses each. Thousands of poses for $10 is how I saw it. 20 minutes is not a ton of time.
Instead of focusing on the "convert" piece, think of the benefits. Convert once, move on.
I have to "convert" stuff all the time. it's just a technicality of the computer world. I have to export stuff to OBJ, import, export to FBX, import. etc etc. It's not really avoidable. Characters with different rigging, bones, default poses are not going to be able to use others assets without some adjustment. At least Daz figures have tons of support and converters exist. If I made my own toon from scratch...I wouldn't even want to figure out how to get V4 poses to work on that.
And I've said a few times, I don't yet see how G3F is more compatible with anything...but people keep saying it is...I'm not one of them :)
It really becomes an organizational thing for me. 3 versions of each pose in my library sounds like a bit of clutter for something at leaswt at this point I'd only rarely use. I'd like to see a script that would just let her accept the actual V4 poses and somehow not go all wanky because of the extra rigging points.
I'm assuming you mean somthing like the autofit script that pops up when loading clothes and such. Because there are correction scripts for various figures that you manually apply on a case by case basis.
Yep for a long time I used one for V4 to Genesis/G2F actually. Still do.
Yes, that is what I mean. The autofit like functionality.
Hi all!
What program I need to transform a Genesis Female character into a Genesis 3 Female?
Thanks!
Need more info then this, transform WHAT? Textures? Poses? Morphs?
I had a bunch of poses that I already converted from v4 to genesis 2 that I converted again from Genesis 2 to Genesis 3. It worked pretty well.
Ooops! Replied to wrong thread. Time for bed!
