Full "What we used" list on figure/bundle info page.

When a figure is promoted with a set of images, I think it would be really helpful if a full list of clothing/hair etc... that was used in the images, should be displayed on the page, or even overlaid across the bottom of the image.

For instance, I was looking at the Keiko 6 page tonight, and I really like the full figure in the main image on the Keiko 6 page.(seen here http://www.daz3d.com/keiko-6) There's no info on what hair was used (although I found that info out from one of the bundle pages, but there is also no info on any page, as to what the bikini used is.

If I ever do buy a figure, I am often swayed by the images that are used... especially like at the moment, where I am clutching at any straw to try and keep myself interested in Poser. But when I have no idea what you need to recreate a look, I usually just give up and move on.

I typed bikini into the search box, but got nothing back that matched. Or does that mean that custom items were used, that are not available in the shop? If so, that's a bad idea... it's like advertising a sofa in a colour that you can't atually buy it in. So I just think a list of items would be a massive help to people like myself, who are prone to spontaneous buying.

With that in mind, does anyone know what item that green bikini is? It almost looks like V6 string bikini, but it also looks like Hongyu bikini, but neither have those textures... or any glossy textures saying that.

Since PAs have said before regarding this sort of request that it can be difficult to remember every item used in a render, perhaps the solution would be if DAZ would add some sort of export feature which would run through the list of figures, proprs, etc. and give the artist a list. This could then be generated and posted along with promotional omages.

That's partially fair enough... although if they took note of what they were using before they did the render, there would be nothing to remember.

The thing is, they're not new to all this, so it should be a standard part of their process to get all the details together for the website builders to work with. If you think about it, you would never just get the latest figure (which you want to entice people to buy), and just leave the choice of hair/clothes etc... to chance. Everything would be chosen to maximise the character, so they must have a list of what they are going to use, before they use it. It's effectively a modelling shoot, and those are planned with meticulous detail when it comes to hair, outfits and locations.

I would also be pretty shocked if the scene files got deleted after the render was done, which means it would be a simple case of loading the file back in, and checking through the prop/figure list to see what was in the scene. I just think that two efficient minutes of their time, could save endless minutes for the customer, wading through page after page of search results in the hope of finding an item. If you make it difficult for the person who has the money, then you risk losing sale after sale because of it. Even if it takes 30 minutes to document a full "Pro" bundle, for the return of sometimes close to $200, that's got to be worth it.

There is a feature in a 3D chat program called IMVU-chat, where they do this. It is easy to implement, if they want to do it. The data would be saved, optionally, as an individual file or it could be embedded within the images EXIF data.

The most ideal option would be for DAZ to setup an actual "Developers" area within DAZ. For all of this development related stuff. (Packaging, product-info, asset-lists, etc... for US, the non-internal content creators.)

The way it works in IMVU, is similar to this... (This happens if you take a "Snapshot" or "Screen-capture", anywhere within the program. Or if you create a "Room" or an "Outfit".)

The program already "Knows" what items were used, or are being used to create the scene. It records the item-numbers, as a list, that anyone who looks at the picture can see all the associated, and grouped, items that were used. Some items are "Adult", or "Private", and do not show. I think there is even an option to "Exclude" certain items, after the snapshot has been taken. This would be ideal for items that have "Non-Daz" ID's, which many "Free items" have randomly generated. But DAZ would be able to check, as the ID's would not be on record, and fail the CRC checking... Or whatever code they use to hash-out the ID's.

I agree that this would be a handy thing to know. Seeing some obscure background item that you just "Have to have", but have no idea what it is called, or what to search, to find it.

Helps fashion things spread like wild-fire, and stops all the common questions... "What is that? Where did you get it? What is it called? How do I find it?" It is a nice feature to have.

Daz could just "Save the scene", prior to rendering, and just dispose of the scene-info, if they choose not to include it. (Obviously only happening in "Developer Mode". The prompt to save a list of scene-assets with the rendering. Helpful for us too, if we forget what we used, or lose the rendered image. The scene-copy is still lingering somewhere.)

I don't use DS much, so I have just loaded it up to see what info is displayed on screen. I just created a basic scene with the Fenesis 2 Starter Essentials items (It's pretty much my sole Genesis 2 content). I added the base female, the pin-ip bikini and hair, poked around the on-sreen options, and found a list of everything in the scene (as you can see in the attached image). Which means that a simple PrtSc would create a full record of everything used.

I was actually checking to see what scripting support there was, but with this, you don't need it, the info is all there.
