Hair locks for hoods ?

After looking after that sort of product it seems no one ever done that, colorable and posable hair locks for hoods.

  • I don't even know what one is. So may have seen one without knowing. And, yes, fashion & I are completely unaquainted with each other.

When doing a Google search I get things like R clip bonnet catches for cars (which I presume are not what you meant), or, and I quote, things referred to as 'dreads for white girls' illustrated by images of grumpy young women having a seriously bad hair day and an excess of ironwork stuck through every bit of their faces (OK, I admit that'd make me grumpy too). Which, in all honesty, doesn't clarify a thing for me..

    Regards,

    Richard.

What we need is a modern version of this ancient V3-era product: Hat Hair Props

Loose hair strands (locks) that can be placed around the edges of a hood (or hat) to make it clear that there is hair under there without having to fit a whole hair model in.

  • Doesn't hat-hair helper do that kind of thing? (I think it's figure specific though). https://www.daz3d.com/sy-hat-and-hair-helper-genesis-8 (there are also Genesis 3 and 2 versions so maybe a Genesis 9 will show up).

This one is specifically for dforce hair https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-hair-helper-and-knitted-hat but from the description it would work more for a hat and not a hood.

Usually I just use a regular hair model and then use geometry editor to hide anything that sticks through the cloth.

  • many of Arki's hairs especially the V4 ones have separate braids and bangs etc

I only linked Wild Winds because it's Dforce too

you can even just buy some of the addons https://www.daz3d.com/the-dragonbraid-addon-tails

The Mega Updo 1 & 2 by OutofTouch have separate bangs you can use.

This pretty much looks like the closest I can get. I remember DMs Summoner for V4 had just some colored locks/bands you could use with the very tight hood so the character doesn't look bald...
