Can G2F wear Genesis clothing (or skins)? How?

I have G2F characters that use V4 UV's, but am wondering if this sort of thing works between Genesis and Genesis2.  I know there's a ton of Genesis stuff on sale right now, but I don't use it anymore, I use Genesis2.  Just need to know if I buy a few things is it a waste of money?  Also, can the Genesis UV's be used on G2F to make more use of the older characters?

Will I have to purchase some sort of 'converter' or somehow change the UV setting somewhere in DS?  Not at all sure how to go about it.  Please help if you can, but speak like I'm a 5 yr old cuz I'm not proficient at 'making things work' that aren't just point and click, LOL! wink

    Defaul G2F includes V5 UVs, so any texture using V5 UVs should be ok.

    There are also products in the store which will give you other Genesis UVs for G2F, for example http://www.daz3d.com/generation-5-uv-bundle-for-genesis-2-female-s will give you S5 and A5 UVs.

    As for clothes, default G2F does include an autofit clone for Genesis items.

    The Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female will let you use maps and auto fit clothes directly. You could also use Genesis as a staging post, AutoFitting clothes to Genesis, saving as a figure asset, and autofitting that to G2F; using the map Transfer tool to convert maps from V4 UVs to V5 (as long as you have V5) for use on G2F.

    Yikes, don't understand how to do any of that Richard.  Sorry.  I don't know any DS tech beyond point and click.  I don't know what a figure asset is or a map transfer tool.

    that will covert all my old V4 skins to Genesis 2 Female.  So I'm looking for something that will let me do the same thing to convert Genesis skins to fit Genesis 2 Female.  Isn't there a program to do that?  All I seem to be able to find is one that takes G2F down to Genesis which is not what I'm looking for.

    What's the difference between Victoria 6 and Genesis 2 Female?  Aren't they the same? (That's how much I don't know).

    Victoria 6 is a particular shape for Genesis 2 Female, a bit like A4 for V4.

    You have the auto-converter for V4 skins, but do you have this: http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female ? That will give you the V4 UVs for G2F, and a clone to autofit V4 clothes to G2F.

     

    You already have the V5 UVs included in G2F, so textures which use those UVs should work directly on G2F. I don't know of any product which gives you the Genesis basic female UVs for G2F, but I'm not sure there are many textures which use those.

    I did something once that worked, but not sure it would work every time,

    I had a V4 skin I wanted to use on a G2F, but it didn't look right,  I knew the skin mats worked for Genesis female, so  what I did was added the Skin mat to a genesis, then I saved as -saved material preset, then I loaded up G2F went to my material preset and added the skin . . hey it worked.

    I don't know if I just got lucky, or if that would work every time

    Thanks, maybe I can try that XatXuun.  I'm just very limited on Genesis knowledge and all the UV stuff.  I just know I want Genesis skins to work on Genesis 2, and want to be able to just point and click.  I don't know how to do any manual fiddling or script stuff.

    I've used a genesis texture on G2F. Took me a bit to get it looking right, due to lighting no other reason iirc.
