Vr scene inspection

I've been trying to get a simple scene into vr for a while with Unity.
Although the controls for the Quest 2 are easy to set up the quality of the render isn't good. Unfortunately I get brain fart when I try to understand shading and textures.
The Blender vr scene inspection is a great quick and dirty tool for doing the job. The controls aren't wonderful but it works. Using Diffeomorphic the textures aren't bad out of the box.
Performance does take a hit though. My little 3060 is screaming for mercy and it's still not that smooth whem moving around. Animation is definitely out of the equation.
Smaller mesh details create quite the light show with the amount of flickering they do, same for detailed textures.
Any tips to help with a smoother experience and calming down the flickering would be greatfully received.
