DForce-ify a pillow that squishes when sat on instead of flattening during sim

I got the great idea to use dForce to "squish" a pillow when someone sat on it, but all it did was flatten the entire pillow into a square (this pillow was not dForce enabled). Is there a way to do this so that the top surface responds to an actor's pressure but doesn't collapse on it's own?

I've had decent luck freezing all the other dforce stuff in the scene except the pillow and setting the gravity to zero or less than zero.
I'll be doing a video on this very thing this week over on my YouTube channel .. just putting the finishing touches on it ..
Gotta say you are definitely one of my fave Daz channels on YT. I appreciate how informative and straight to the point your videos are and even things I thought I knew I usually pick up either a new way of doing it or a useful tip. Thank you for sharing the knowledge :)
Rauko for president 2024! Looking forward to that one.
I've used ghost dynamics and mesh grabber, but find they're too fuddly to work with, and sometimes I'm just so tired and bored with the setup, I just want to hit that render button and walk away for a bit.
Thanks Sunny .. appreciate it!
President?!?! Easy there Tiger .. I'm far too busy to do a job like that!
I've been able to accomplish the pillow/mattress squish by turning down the dForce strength to somewhere around 70% and using the animation timeline.

Not to derail the thread... But here is something I'd love to see in a Tutorial/Video.
A lot of the assets I buy come with a "Template" folder....
Ok... great, but what can we do with the templates? Show me!
Pretty please, with sugar on top!
Nothing really .. I think .. and a PA will have to confirm this .. they're just UV maps which you can load into a paint package and use as a ... template ... to create your own textures .. load 'em up, draw over them and save 'em out ... I've used one for that purpose previously but wouldn't know what other purpose they serve

I visited your youtube channel and there is no video about squishy pillow or something.

Never mind. I found a way to solve it. Use d-former on the pillow. it'd look good enough for me.
