Hello,
what do you think of the upcoming Octane Skin Shader v.2 for Blender?
I build it with the Genesys 8.x DAZ model in mind too so I can also use SSS texture maps to add details like veins to the rendering of the models.
Below some samples of renderings.

This looks better than plastic dolls and similar to Iray layered skin, there are some improvements to default Cycles renderer.
These rendered images all have similar feeling of wax sculptures.
I don't know how to further improve the results in rendered images, my characters also look waxy when rendered in Cycles.
The skin shader lacks some realism compared to MetaHuman, but it's easier to use than complicated nodes used in Unreal renderer or other render engines.
Some realistic PC games can look better than images rendered in hours.
Hi Catmaster,
I know, in Cycles the result of IRAY Shader for Cycles is really poor but Cycles engine is capable to achieve great realism.
My Skin shader don't use Cycles but Octane and I have in mind to release an advanced skin shader for Cycles too.
Actually this shader is quite high quality, if it uses better custom model than the default Genesis 8 model, with improved lighting settings it would look much more realistic.
If there's way to add extra realism such as skin imperfections, and get rid of that waxy feeling then the result would be photorealistic.
Look very nice :) Is the shader already available to buy or download somewhere ? I have no experience in Octane, but i'm curious about it
I really like the feet and the hand. Not so sure about the face, but this may be due to the eyes and the lashes. I also miss details on the face (e.g. wrinkles and pores) that are shown on the hands and feets. This may be an effect of the light setup though.
