Thri-Kreen Figures?

Hi all,

(hopefully this is the right forum to post this, apologies if I'm in the wrong spot)

I've been looking around, but can't find anything like this. Is there anyone out there who is into *creating* 3D figures (rather than just posing them like me) who could make something like this: 

  

 

I don't have a lot of money, but would be prepared to contribute something for your time if required, and of course you could presumably sell it afterwards...?

 

If I'm in the wrong place, could anyone point me to the right place, by any chance?

    Before you say anything more, I'll just give you one name: Dodger.

    This one specializes in reproducing creatures from the first Dungeon & Dragons book.

    Another option, still free, would be to check the Hivebred, developped by Sixus1: Sure, it's only two-armed, but seems like a good start for what you wish. You'll find below a quick render done using this model. http://www.sixus1.com/freebies-2.html

    That said, none of those are particularly insectoid, but it might be a start.

    I have a vrusk up there too. A Thri-Kreen is planned, though I will be taking the look primarily from the first edition Monster Manual II.

    Really cool stuff, Dodger. Any tips on trying to get it into Daz properly?

    Edit: NM! Figured it out. Daz isn't doing anything meta-data-y with it, but so long as I know where to go with the cr2, looks good.

    It should be in the Poser Formats section...all of them will be.  Materials need tweaking, but everyone of Dodger's figures I've tried have no problems.

    I'm doing stuff in Iray, so most materials need to be tweaked, anyway.

    I stumbled across an insectoid biped over at renderosity called Grottos insectoid. Maybe you could combine it with the four arm genesis figure?
