54th Bryce Render Challenge (Majestic Animals)
Intro:
I saw the most adorable wiener dog today. Then I realize we never did a theme about animals. So how about majestic animals. Im sure someone can do something creative with this.
Bryce Contest #54

Apoc - what a lovely animation - and a nice theme.
Apoc, Oh dear, difficult, but very interesting theme.
@hansmar
Part of me did forget that bryce is actually a Terrain program. Im so used to using the render engine for all my scenes, I never realized that many people might not have access to animal models :D
I am wondering if I should make the theme a bit more inclusive?
Apoc, Good question. I do have access to animal models, so for me it is no problem.
There are various free animal models around the web, including at Dieren gratis 3D modellen downloaden - Free3D, Free 3D Animal Models | TurboSquid and various other sites. In some cases, one has to register for a site. Not all animals might be considered 'majestic'. However, what is majestic is for everybody who creates a render for the contest to decide.
But, I am interested to hear whether other people have an issue with the theme.
Yeah, there are also some free models on Sketchfab as well.
Also https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Animals may help if you use Bryce together with Poser or DAZ Studio.
It is a challenging challenge and it will be nice to see what everyone comes up with. For me personally every challenge is challenging because I don"t use Daz or Poser or other 3D except Bryce and a bit of Wings. Thanks Hansmar and Past and Future for the links.
How about making "retro 3D" animals in Bryce?)
Here is some inspiration for you:
Hansmar : thanks for the links.
Past as Future : thank you for the links and the "inspiration"
Not an easy theme, a challenge in a challenge as mermaid said.

Past as Future thanks for the inspiration.
If the theme is too difficult, or not interesting enough, I can push the date back further, or come up with a new theme if anyone is interested
I personally have no problem with this theme.
Sorry for extended absence too many reasons to explain seems to be a slow starter this one so I will kick things off with prob my only entry " Excuse me ladies my eyes are down here"
stag is a freebie rocks and foliage are via quixel bridge megascans imported into Blender and saved from blender as wavefront obj's to use in Bryce
spuddy : wow, this is an excellent image, very realistic too.
Very nicely done spuddy.
Spuddy, Great entry. Hope you think of and have time for another one too.
And pretty good Spuddy
hey Spuddy - this is beutiful.....
Thank you all for the supportive comments they are much appreciated
quick simple one..... "who ate all the grass?"
freebie bison and quixel objects
spuddy - another very nicely done scene.
Spuddy, Indeed, another greatly done render.
I decided to interpret the word 'majestic' a bit differently. So here is my first entry: Majestic ants.
One grass object, three ants (one, modified into three in Hexagon; free ant and Free3D). and one tree. Grass and ants instanced multiple times, tree only once. And two terrains too.
spuddy : I agree with Horo and Hansmar, very well done.
Hansmar : original idea, excellent render.
My first entry : cold, hungry and alone. Bryce terrains, a gascloud HDRI, some vegetation and a fox from Content Paradise.
Hansmar - a yes, ants are majestic creatures. Much older than humans and still here and busy doing their job.
adbc - beautiful winter scene with the fox. Clever beasts.
Spuddy - two great entries, well done.
Hansmar - nice idea, beautifully done.
Adbc - very nice winter scene, cute fox
very nice _ thanx
Horo Thanks
Hansmar Thanks I really like your Majestic Ants nice idea and well completed
adbc Thanks Cold hungry and alone is a great entry you have to feel for the poor thing
Mermaido010 and ed3D thanks
last one " Bully no mates"
Spuddy another excellent entry.
Looks again great, spuddy. Very nicely done wood through which the elephant comes to us.
adbc, Horo, mermaid, spuddy: thank you
adbc: wonderful mood in your render. I like the use of the sky.
Spuddy: another wonderful entry. Fantastic woods and great light from the back.
My second one: Who is majesty? A Rhino, surrounded by a number of flies, and a lion facing of. The lion does not look so majestic now, does he? A tropical tree by Judy K (multiple instances) and grass made from a tree (multiple instances). A sky by Karanta that I also used as IBL.
