Digging a hole

I would like to have a character dig a hole in the ground with a shovel. Is there a product that lets me insert a hole into a scene?

in DAZ studio a Dformer, Meshgrabber, Dforce even

the main thing is you need your terrain to have sufficient polygons or subdivide it
For Dforce I would duplicate the terrain and set the second one below it and cut out a hole with the geometry editor then Dforce the top terrain to sag through that hole, maybe even use an animated drape with a moving primitive to push it
they would need to be 2 actual separate objects though or editing one would affect the other.
Dformers and Meshgrabber work directly on the mesh no simulation needed (I don't own the latter)
