Saving a Figure as Figure/Prop Asset with addons

I create characters that I use regularly. Instead of just recreating them I save them as a scene set along with their shape and material in case files get corrupted. However, I wanted to start saving as a figure prop asset so that I can create my own smart content to make it easier to load them. When I do, the figure loads without eyelashes and tear. I learned that I can save it as a character preset but that will not allow me to save as a smart content. In which I mean, I want to create my separate category under Default. For example, Default/Guardians/Figures/Character name. When I go to save a character preset as a product, I get the dialogue to enter a name which I cannot create a path. Is there a way for me to save a figure as a figure/prop asset with any followers attached?

What are you wanting to do in Smart Content that you can't do with presets? Creating new assets is not to be doen lightly as it has knock-on consequences.

I'd save something like that as a Subset, safer.

I would listen to your advice. I will just keep them as scene subset.

I don't knoiw if this thread is still active, but here goes my problem. I am in the process of making certain models that have movable parts, all of them hard body, meaning not bending geometries. My rigging is pretty much OK, except when I save the model as a Figure/Prop Asset. It does save the model intact, but after that is done and I close DAZ Studio, and then reopen it and load the model for testing, the rigging no longer works the way I meant it to work. Doors dont rotate on the hinge, balljoints don't pivot correctly, sliding parts don't slide in the grooves made for them, etc.

I learned that you have to do something to get DAZ Studio to memorize the rigging, but the person that told me this did not tell me how to find and use the Memorize tool while saving! So my question here is twofold:

Where do I find the Memorize tool, and how do I make it memorize all the rigging data and settings in my models before completing the save?

I thank you in advance for any good help you can provide!

Alt + Shift + J, then right-click in Viewport, Memorize > Memorizie Figure Rigging. It memorizes rigging of the selected root node and its children bones.

However, memorizing rigging or not shouldn't affect bones' translation / rotation with face groups... There might be other causes.
