I have not personally used the VDB cloud (it is in my wishlist, though!) It is certainly worth a play with that. I have also used things like Atmospheric Smoke Camera which can give a hazy effect and is much less demanding on your system. Other things like SickleYields fogs and mists eg: Fast Fog Iray are also something I like to use. Most fog and mist packages have the ability to rotate planes to get a horizontal band of cloudiness too. Others may have much better suggestions for which package to use but I look forward to seeing what you can get done with that.
with VDB Clouds
is so OK I think
Nearly missed that you updated your original post. Really love the clouds. My personal favourite is the 3rd one down.
This entry is a journey into color and dreamy aesthetics. I focused on composition in how I brought all the elements together and the heavy application of DOF, instancing and duplication (with all the flowers and the glowing spheres everywhere), and light and lighting effects (combining hdri, spotlights, and those small emissive spheres scattered around the character). Postwork in Photoshop was to mainly denoise and soften my grainy CPU render.
Amid Blue and Gold (Intermediate Entry, Daz Iray)
I didn't get the chance to work on posing last month even though I really wanted to learn more about it, so maybe I'll save that for my second entry if I have time.

LOVE. The colors are so spring like. The shine on her eyes and lips is great. Very realistic.
Made use of instances for the figures in the background, and tried out some volumetrics. Feedback appreciated!
Don't delete the attachment, the inline image is pointing to it.
I didn't delete the attachment, not sure why it deleted itself. :/ I added it back in. Thanks for the heads about it
It may have been doing two posts in succession - the attachment stays attached to the message box until you close or refresh the page, so the image for the second post might well have removed it.

Challenge: Intermediate
I wanted to show how a very simple HDRI can be better for an already complicated scene.
I'm usually a realistic lighting type so this was out of my comfort zone. Feedback is always, appreciated!
@PedroFurtadoArts I think I wrote a guide under how to transform Iray to PBR skin (unless you are trying to convert the textures too).
Basically, after you have applied the Iray skin of your choice,
1) load any 8.1 skin (I usually go for Victoria 8.1, but you can choose any other 8.1 Pro character) but instead of double clicking, you need to CTRL + ALT + Double click on the PBR skin to load. This will open a pop-up window (Material Preset Option), and choose Images > Ignore (to not replace textures).
2) Then, in the surfaces you need to type UV and change it back to Base Famale. Done! [You might need to adjust for the skin tone]
3) NOTE: For rendering, PBR skin best works with Spectral Rendering (Natural, 1964).
I focused heavily on composition with this entry as I was inspired to create a detailed fairytale-like render. Instancing was very useful here for the plants and butterflies. Postwork in Photoshop included softening the render, adjusting color balance, and using some brushes to bring in the sparkles for a magical feel.
The character here is Serene, AOBB's lovely G8.1F face morph that she's provided as a freebie at https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/562291/aobb-s-head-morph-serene-for-g8-1f-no-materials-or-textures-included

Composed and rendered in DAZ Studio.
Comments would be appreciated.
Shack
Lots of interesting renders!!
perlk - your updates to Fantasy Fire Hazard really made a difference. Very dramatic and slightly eerie render. Nicely done!

@PedroFurtadoArts Here is my negative review: Wow! :)
Great skin! especially the lighter one, it's quite eye catching. I see you added some hair highlights too in postwork.
Thank you, It's a skin for the g8f I'm trying to transform it to the g8.1f but it's quite difficult and also doesn't look as realistic

Same character. Different Cyber setting. Again, thoughts very much appreciated. Trying to get those creative juices going.
Thank you!
