Not sure of the correct terminology. When you've selected an item in the scene item list, a little box around it is formed in the view screen, just the corners of the box very pale in tone. Is there a way to toggle this on and off?

    That is the Bounding Box - in the Draw Settings Pane (Window>Panes(Tabs)>Draw Settings) you can adjust the Bounding Box Edge Length value to reduce or hide them.
