Possible to Rig Actor or Clothing with Nested Separate Meshes?

I'm trying to rig a ragdoll to fit to Genesis. I got the hang of rigging typical unimesh using Trasnfer Utility by now. I just don't know the workflow of rigging an imported model with nested meshes, even after purchased tuts.
The purpose is to keep a Genesis conforming figure's meshes as nested child/siblings so that I could assign separate Carrara modifiers to them. For physics practice. It will probably be useful info for multi-mesh clothing for use in DS.
For ref, I model in ZBrush and use GoZ or manual Obj import. Am also familiar with assigning face/ surface/ selection groups. My trials so far, the fastest import route of nested meshes into DS seems to be GoZ visible Subtools. And then manually parenting them.
So far I have tried parenting the nested meshes to a DS primitive/ DS null before Transfer Utility. Doesn't work. There's probably a way of doing this using Convert Prop to Figure, which is a new area for me.
Appreciate your help...
