Some fun with the Orca and Walrus from DAZ Studio.
I had a bit of landscaping fun today :)
@David - thank you. Bryce TE was always a great tool if it only worked still as fast as in Bryce 6.1. The slow-down came with Bryce 6.3 and with 7.0 the flaw in the exported tif height maps. There are still a few lose ends in my TE filters program so I'll have my digging to do as well.
@Sandy - the second one looks really great. Could be a photograph.
@Tim - very nice result of fun.
Renders I've seen during this visit are eye candy and nicely done.
David - nice animation
Horo- thanks, nice looking terrain renders
Sandy - lovely renders
Tim - another awesome render
Looking for tropical plants I can across this tropical island model from Share CG by Herminio Nieves. The boat is also a freebie.
Tropical Morning
@mermaid010 - what a nice tropical image.
@Sandy - that's also a nice tropical image.
I'm still working on my TE-Filters program. Here are 3 renders with a filtered Mud Cracks terrain. The general pattern of the Mud Cracks is still visible. The black and white one is rendered through the GWL (gigantic wide angle fisheye lens) that makes it round.
Sandy - beautiful sunset
Horo - thanks. Your experiments are interesting, love the last image.
I must have been working on it at the same time as you. I like the ship in the foreground with the orange sails.
Mine started off as this but I felt it a little dark and brooding :-)
Tropical Storm
So many great renders! Unfortunately, I don't have time to comment on all of them; life is on crazy right now! Here's a shoreline WIP I'm working on.
Sandy- seems like both of us are hit by the tropical bug.:-)
Art – Wow lovely shoreline, love the clouds and the foam
Here’s another using the Tropical Paradise model by Herminio Nieves from Share CG

all the new renders are awesome, great work everyone :)
@Sandy - Tropical Storm looking nice but somehow it looks as if there were a lot of ambience.
@Art - very nice coast WIP.
@mermaid010 - nicely done.
@Dan - another artwork that stands out. Beautifully lit and great composition.
Horo- Thanks
Dan – Wow awesome render
Nexis Station
Mermaid - thank you , nice effect on the surreal sky, and your tropical island looks really lovely
David - really nice animation
Horo - thank you . I like where you are going with the terrain editor filter, very interesting designs I particularly like the copper mud crack
Sandy - the second orca scene looks so realistic, and I like the glowing sun on your tropical morning.
Tim - thank you. great landscape as usual
Art - What a great looking beach scene. It looks like a photo
Dan - Great composition and lighting.
Going through my old Bryce folders I found this one. I thought I share it
Art, I want to be beside the sea (that should have been a song title...heh he).
Nice one, Dan...we just don't get enough scenes here where the main subject is a figure (harks back to my life classes in pre-art school).
Lovely atmoshperics in that, Vivien1.
And as there seems to be a sunset theme developing...below...titled 'Sunset Boulevard'
Jay
Thank you Jay.. Fabulous render, the reflection on the buildings look great. Is there a flock of birds as well?
Cheers, Vivien1...and, yes, the birds are in that wonderful v-fomation (aerodynamic reasons...etc.,) we sometimes see in our skies.
Jay
There are only three actual plants in the scene the rest are instances and for some reason that particular plant and instances were very bright. That was why I changed it for the final version. I did go in and lower the ambient on those plants first though :-)
vivien1
Thank you.
A lot of excellent scenes coming through here at the moment.
That background would make a great 'under the ice' scene.
@bigh - I don't know what it could be but it looks nice.
@vivien1 - beautiful clean render.
@Jay - great camera angle. Very nice scene.
Still working on my TE Filters program. Here I clicked once on Spikes and exported them. Then filtered and imported back into the TE. Spikes used in 3 resolutions and filtered the same. The white temple is at 4096, the foreground at 1024 and the mid-ground 2048 terrains. Creating skyscrapers in the Bryce TE always get slightly narrower on top than on the bottom. Obviously, with the right filters, terrain height maps can be vertical.
Cheers, Horo.
Love that 'spiky' temple...which in a snowy setting without the other buildings could be used also as Superman's Fortress of Solitude.
Jay
Bigh – nice render
Vivien1 - Thanks, your render is awesome
Jay – very nicely looking scene
Horo – interesting results with the filter, very nice color combination.
old man thanks you guys for your comments !
Here's a Mound terrain and the foamywater texture exported from the TE. Both were filtered and combined. I made these two example renders for the doc. The materials are from our High Resolution Terrain Set 2, the HDRIs are gasclouds from two unpublished space and fantasy sets.
@bigh strange place ,cool background.
@vivien1 a lovely image ,like the amiance in it.
@Jamahoney beautiful sceneℑ,love the sky.
@Horo cool terrains,wonderful skies , my fav ist the last one .
Cheers, Mermaid, and vos...sky was one of David's.
Jay
More fun with the hand and skull objects :-)
