Can someone please explain PostgreSQL CMS

Do I need it for Carrara 8.5 Pro?
If so then do I install it right after Carrara installation?
I also have Daz Studio 4.7 installed on my mac.

    It's just a different database system for the CMS.

    Carrara 8.5 pro do not need Postgres and don't work with it (it will use the old CMS).

    Carrara 8.5 pro BETA need postgres and do not work without it (it will crash).

    You can install postgres at any time, there is a conversion tool that will move all the existing CMS data to postgres when you do it.
