Viewport background?

For some reason my viewport background insists on going to black. I really would love to get my old white background. is there a setting that I am missing?

    It has changed in 4.7

    Go to Window > Panes (Tabs) > Environment, and adjust the bg colour from there.

    No, the Environment pane is for what shows when you render -- for the viewport color you want Window > Style > Customize, last item is Viewport color.
