Ok this might be a dumb question but after searching google and getting no results I need someone to give me a simple answer to a question before I go down this rabbit hole.
Question: is it possible for me to take an existing genesis 8 character that I have in daz to be used in blender to animating purposes.
I just need to know if its even possible.
...if it is, does anyone know of videos I can look at to export/import correctly with the right settings.

I'm aware of the bridge. But is it actually possible to rig a genesis 8 character from daz and animate with it?
Not a dumb question. Better to ask then to spend a gazillion hours learning something that you end up not using anyway.
Yes, both the DAZtoBlender bridge and the Diffeomorphic bridge will export your G8 character to Blender with the rig. They will also export with joint control morphs so that when you pose the character the joints will look correct. You will be able to bake normal and/or displacement maps.
I'm almost done with a video walkthrough on how to get everything from Daz to Blender using Diffeomorphic and the new HD Add-on. Hopefully that will help.
Thank you! a video for that would be absolutely incredible! I'm glad to hear it is a possibility since all I've heard is negative things about rigging daz3d characters for animation in blender. it almost seems impossible considering how there are almost no video tutorials on bringing a daz character over to blender and then rigging them for animation in blender itself. I'm looking forward to seeing ur video!
