Add key to timeline causes "not responding" - solved

Title says it all - 91 frames - try to add key at frames 1, 45, or 90 and app atops reponding - good old grey. Ask what specs are needed.

    No obvious red flags there, though there are probably a lot of properties to key - how long are you letting it sit?

    till i'm sure everything is ready- it takes over 30 minutes to do it's thing.

    how about it takes over 6 hours with 1 character in the scene. The movie editor would be fine but not with this kind of functionality that has needed fixing for years now.
