    This effect is interesting. That the hard outlines fade into the shadows is really kind of neat.

    I'm not sure when I would use it, but I would be totally stoked when the time was right and the image called for it.

    Could you do a human figure with this recipe? I'd be curious how that blockiness would work with it...

    Was exploring Cartoon filters mixed with outline filters.

    Did a Vicky with the same setup, Vicky's shadow shows the line/blend mix. Tried adding a small tree to the scene but it caused the shaders on the building & ground to go crazy, problem that occurs regularly with that particular model maker.

    thanks for working that up. very impressionistic, and it would be hard to tell it was 'computerized', yet it has a techno edge to it.

    what an interesting/intriguing effect. again, I'm not sure exactly where I'd use it, but with the right animation/image context, I think it would be really compelling.

    there's some great stuff happening here...

    that hero has a cool cel style, and the various painterly styles before it all have their own strengths.

    i would have thought the hashes in the knight scene clouds would have bothered me, but their strength as graphic elements seems to work more than they distract. interesting mind-tweaks.

    Aiko3 sagitarian is a great look - could totally see an animation done in that style.
