hollow cylinders?

so complete noob, when it comes to hex, using version 2.5.2.109 and tryiung to follow the mug tut, but my cylinder is hollow?

has something changed since the tut was made?

Right at the start (around 2:05) he said to press ALT and click on the bottom then rotate and click on the top. You can do the same thing by clinking the "A" (close All) in the properties tab.
