how do you put text onto genesis character?

I'm designing a robot character with genesis and I want to put a code on their skin and I was wondering if that's possible and how I would go about doing it.

If you create the text in a square image as a TIF or PNG with a transparent background, you can use the Multi-Layer Image Editor to add it to any material zone fairly easily.

Simply click on the drop down on the diffuse channel and select "Layered Image Editor", then insert a new Image layer and select your text. You can then scale it and position it on that surface fairly easily. Note the MLIE does not cross seams automatically. If you want to do that, it gets harder.
